<\/a>Ang Pao (Red Packets)<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Chinese culture, Ang Pao are monetary gifts given during special occasions such as weddings. The red colour of the envelope signifies good luck and wards off evil spirits. The amount offered is intended to signify goodwill to the newlyweds. It is traditional to put brand new notes inside red envelopes with the amount of money contained in the envelope featuring at least one “8” (but\u00a0no “4”s!) and ideally\u00a0ending with an even digit.
